The story behind Velvra Glow Serum.
The idea
Velvra is a fictional skincare brand we created to show what a 3D launch reel can do for a beauty product. The goal: a short vertical film that makes a simple glass dropper bottle feel premium, with the texture of the glass, the glow of the serum and the weight of the gold collar.
Four shots
The reel moves from mood to detail to lightness. It opens on the bottle in a dark, foggy set with a light beam and floating droplets while the camera orbits slowly. Then comes a close-up of the collar unscrewing to reveal the threads, a macro of the bulb squeezing and a drop forming and falling into the bottle, and finally a bright set where the bottle and dropper float weightless.
Built from scratch
The bottle, dropper and label were modelled in Blender, with materials for clear glass, the amber serum and brushed gold. The fog, light beam and droplets are part of the 3D scene, not added afterwards. The shots are set up in Python so they can be re-rendered in other formats, and the final grade and encode were done with ffmpeg.
The still
The same model also produced a clean studio product render, the kind a brand would use on its storefront or in ads. One production run gives both the film and the stills.
